It’s sad tbh because you can’t even come out to your own family without having to worry about being disowned or being a black sheep for being different (as someone that came out as trans recently, I was promptly labeled a black sheep and constantly deadnamed even after I told them my preferred name)

I’m non-binary and regularly get dirty looks in public, and a couple times had people come up and harass me. it’s to the point I don’t feel safe unless I’m around other people. and yet conservatives are the victims here 💀

i’m not even physically transitioning either but i don’t see them reacting well to me explaining that despite presenting as my assigned gender, i prefer they/them and a different name. my grandma already almost had a heart attack when she saw a teeny memorial tattoo i have 😭
