I love my bf and he’s getting ready to propose. His mom and I have never had any big problems but she says she doesn’t want him to propose bc im chronically ill. I’m genuinely tore up abt this and it’s been 2 months since she said this

That sux. It’s his decision, not hers. But this doesn’t bode well for you if you guys do get married, cause she’ll be pulling this shit on your guy for the rest of his life, and you’ll have to deal with it.

She’s a complicated person. She doesn’t like her son at all and doesn’t believe anyone should get married until 35. He’s low contact with her but she’s still a distance person in our lives

He says his mom is insecure and has control problems but can’t cut her off completely. He’s always defended me and that’s caused some tension. She “likes me as a person but hates that I’m dating her son”. Everything has always been him focused which is why it hurt when she was talking about me personally

No it’s genetic but she’s a breast cancer survivor who had a double mastectomy with lymph node removal. She’s had a tough ass life
