i’ve noticed men get very very sensitive talking about sex. that’s why they’re so weird about toys they have an inferiority complex

It’s a general statement, I’m making a point it’s clearly not all men are that way

They didn’t say all men btw

They generalized men. I’m sure women don’t like being generalized

So men are unable to have feelings or have them be hurt?

i’m being so fr if my post hurt your feelings so bad you’re saying things like this you really really need to grow up

I am certainly not saying that, I am curious about your logic though. It is universally accepted for people to be hurt by generalizations, no matter gender, race, religion, etc. stereotypes off all sorts are harmful in us all being equal

it’s also universally accepted for adults to be able to shrug things off that don’t apply to them omgggggg

Those people are either minorities (which means the generalizations are discriminatory) or unintelligent.

The point is all people live complex lives and putting them in a box due to their gender is unfair. We should all be on the same team not trying to get even

You didn’t get put into a box, though.

The OP essentially inferred that men have inferiority complexes, I’m less so concerned with the sex part. Im sure we can agree that there are plenty of men out there who have that, but similarly it would be like me saying ‘women are too emotional’. It is an unfair representation of an entire gender and all I’m saying is we shouldn’t try to generalize one another

Then don’t compare it to if a man said it about a woman

honestly if you really wanted to split hairs you’d have to argue that men who are weird about toys are the ones i’m saying have an inferiority complex. if you’re not weird about them it doesn’t apply to you

That is my belief too. And I think that our feelings are of equal value. I believe that we should do our best to be fair to one another and not discredit someone’s personhood. That’s where I’m coming from with generalizations

I am not discrediting oppression throughout human history in any way, but social context is not needed for a humanistic approach. If all human lives are of equal value we should treat them accordingly

can i be so fucking fr bc i made a yikyak post in 15 seconds that i didn’t think anyone would care about. and honestly i didn’t think anyone would really give a shit about the generalization of men being sensitive about sex (something that has never been used to oppress them) or having inferiority complexes about toys (which you agreed with 😭😭)

no one was disagreeing with that, we just pointed out that it’s incorrect to say all harm is equal. yes generalizations hurt everyone, but it’s the difference between a hangnail vs getting your arm chopped off. also please don’t act dumb, you were in the convo even longer than i was. you KNOW no one was arguing that
