
my dad is in the exact same boat, and i think i know which industry you’re referring to because of it. my hopes is by the new years this period will be over and everyone will resume their normal posts, and if not, those who were laid off who have years of experience should be top priority for filling all the empty gaps in the next 6 years. i’m sure exceptions will be made by the companies to accept former employees for the remainder of their contracts given the scenario.
