Reading peer reviewed studies on how evil many men are (5-15% rapists, 22-57% guilty of SA, 95% guilty of trying to persuade a no into a yes) and remembering the one ex who showed basic human decency. Will I ever find this again?

Damn that’s insane, I never even thought to try and convince a girl to say yes if she said no, though some girls do probably want you to persuade them so they say no to begin with, but I’d never assume that.

Uh, you got a source for those numbers? Because 60% guilty of SA seems like a ridiculous number unless we start including a really wide definition of SA

Yes. Sadly I do. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4484276/

Also the rape stat is apparently 6-15%. I mis-remembered. It’s all in the intro to this paper, original papers cited. I don’t want this to be the reality any more than you do. But sadly it is.

Here’s the 95% one https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/08862605261432630

Ah I see, so it’s a range because it’s multiple papers with multiple different results

Yes, and they’re all bad. And lived experience corroborates their findings. And I’m not going to settle for a guy who displays any of this behavior. So probably I need to find a way to become lesbian.

Well either I find a unicorn or I go 4b. I know maybe two men that I’d actually trust as a partner. Finding such a man who is mutually attracted to me… yeah the probability is so low and all I want is basic humanity.

Oh actually it’s 4, but two of them are gay.

Congratulations, you’re part of the 5% who possess basic human decency. Pls talk about it with your male friends.

I linked the studies. I was shocked too when I first saw it. Shocked and disappointed. But this is why it’s so important to have these conversations. If we stay quiet, this will never change.

Villainizing men isn’t going to make things change. I think you’re genuinely brainwashed if you believe some of those studies. 95% of men? Thats 19 out of 20. You really believe that? Really?

I’m not villainizing men. I’m literally just sharing personal experience and peer reviewed research. Women deserve to know what they’re getting into and how to properly navigate dating, and sharing the research helps with that. If sharing the truth looks like villainizing men to you, suck it up I don’t care.

I agree with your overall point but you’re not sharing the truth. Those studies clearly lie or exaggerate numbers to demonize men.
