My bf and I have to take an indefinite break while he goes through his divorce and we won’t be able to be together for maybe up to a year. Would it be terrible if I got with my ex during the break?

he’s married. that’s inherently infidelity even if they were separated. you immediately are looking to cheat on him

You asked for advice, I gave you the response any reasonably civilized person would have

Yeah fair enough, but you don’t really get the whole situation so the advice isn’t relevant. But that’s okay

There is no context that would change my answer. How tf are you <35 and involved with someone who is getting a divorce

Him and I are both 25 but I don’t get how age even matters. I’m involved with someone getting a divorce because I met a guy and caught feelings for him when he happened to be getting a divorce. Pretty simple

My point is if you are 25 and already getting a divorce I question your character and judgement to end up with such a messed up life. If you are 25 and want to pursue a relationship with a person like that, I judge your standards and character as well

Hence why my advice was to reflect on what led you here and reevaluate some life choices

Everyone’s path in life is different, some people aren’t as lucky as others. Unfortunately he was manipulated by a woman he thought he could trust and it resulted in an abusive marriage. I’m pursing him because I don’t think his abuse defines him. But to each their own, if that’s not something you can understand then it’s not my place to force you to understand it

At some point people (the guy in this situation) have to take responsibility for the situations they put themselves in. I personally think it’s the barest of bare minimum standards to not even consider being with the type of person you’re describing him to be

I feel like if he was a woman who was a victim you wouldn’t say he put himself in the situation. But double standards I guess, people always ignore abuse when it’s the man unfortunately.

As a man I would not for a second consider romantically entertaining a girl with a past remotely similar to that

Okay, that’s your prerogative and that’s chill. I just don’t think people’s abuse defines them
