Btw this really just applies for sit down restaurants not tipping your cashier is different lol

And the thing is that if tipping culture disappeared the prices would rise to make up the difference. Which they would still complain about. Lol.

in my opinion you tip if the service is good. it’s not automatic

And most times the service is good enough for a tip. A lot of things that go wrong, such as long wait times for food, is out of the servers control. Now if they’re rude or neglectful that’s different, but I think that’s rare.

Really what SHOULD happen is that server jobs should be required in all states to pay at least minimum wage. I guess some people don’t know it’s legal to pay servers $2.00 an hour. When they make that wage and you don’t tip they are literally paying to serve you. I don’t wanna hear “well they should find a different job” because if all servers quit to find a job you wouldn’t be able to go to restaurants anymore. ALL jobs deserve a living wage. That was literally the point of minimum wage
