I hate ai with a burning passion, but my one guilty use for it is helping me put outfits together. I tell it the temp, season, and event, tell it to ask me questions about what types of pieces I already have, and it throws something together. Now I do know enough about what I like to course correct when it gives me batshit stuff but it’s so helpful with using what I already have and my body type (bc all google shows me for my body type is like frumpy tshirts and boxy jeans which is NOT my vibe)
PINTEREST IS FULL OF AI ANYWAY!!! It’s either skinny women in clothes that only look good on skinny people or outfits I literally do not physically own. Genuinely this is my only use of ai, once every two weeks when I have something to go to when there’s people out here “dating” ai chat bots by texting them constantly, cheating on schoolwork, and making ai slop art 20 times a day
I didn’t say that. I’m just pointing out the ai is bad conversation needs to exist with nuance. The fault of ai’s detriment to society, work force, and environment comes from corporate and cultural scale, not one person’s bare minimum use (which if you wanna talk about water use uses the same as a Google search, if you wanna talk about intellectual property theft from training, my data on what clothes I own is being stolen and uploaded so they can make better clothing ads). It’s not a moral fail
For shits and giggles I went to Pinterest and this is the exact order of options I got Ai - Ad - Ad - Ad - Ad - Ad - Ad - Ai - Ad - Ad - Ad - Ad made with ai - Ad - Ad - Ad - Ad - Ai ad - same Ad again - first actual image and it’s a dress and a jean jacket - ad - ad - ad - ad - “10 outfit ideas” to another ad filled website link - ad - ai ad - ad - website link - ad - website link - ad - ad - ad - ad - ad
I am still growing. We can argue about if I’m growing slower bc 5% of my outfits are curated with ai input or if trial and error would be slower but it’s not like I wake up every morning and need ai to tell me what to wear. It’s when my brain is empty and I’d be wearing jeans and a t-shirt. Ai is still a tool at the end of the day, with a massive abuse risk, that many many many people do. But tools do still have valid uses (I still vote valid consumer uses are highly highly limited)
