While I do think cheating isn’t that big of a deal I do think it’s reasonable to empathize with someone who has been betrayed by someone they thought they could trust with their life. It costs nothing to be kind to someone in pain.“Violence, revenge, vindication and evil behavior are all on the table in terms of..” OP, unless I misread this, wouldn’t it suggest that cheating probably is a pretty big deal if the aforementioned things are common responses people have to cheating? I think if you truly dedicated some time to picturing yourself in a variety of bad cheating scenarios you could go experience. I’m sure some might hit home
Have you seen how some people react to cheating ? Violence, revenge, vindiction and evil behavior are all on the table in terms of retribution due to how ppl feel . So yea I don’t think it’s that* big of a deal, but in regard to what you’re saying , that is indeed a painful experience.
I understand your pov and I can hold space for your thoughts. I also think you are twisting what I’m saying and interpreting it to mean something else entirely. Idrc to go back and forth cuz it seems like you’re pretty set in how you feel and what you think I’m saying, so to continue this wouldn’t really be fruitful. Agree to disagree 💞
Me saying it’s on the table is an observation on how visceral some reactions are to ppl cheating. That is what I would call an overreaction . I’m not saying it’s a viable response or worthy of that. If you think that because people have resorted to this means it is a worthy endeavor to partake in, why draw the line at just cheating? It’s a slippery slope in terms of morality is all I’m saying and therefore not a big deal as some people make it.
