It was more common for a family of 4 to be supported on one income then. Women didn’t have the same rights then, so men kinda had no choice but to provide. The economy and social norms in general have shifted to the point where everyone can and should contribute. A lot of the things that “used to be” a certain way are no longer that way. That’s just the trajectory of society.

There’s nothing inherently wrong with wanting a man to provide while he expects that you take on a trad role but that’s not the only way to live and any other way is not “wrong” just because it’s not that.
