You could’ve bought a round trip flight to Iceland to go see a total solar eclipse at sunset in Iceland for that same price, but you didn’t know about that so now you’re stuck spending it on a toothbrush that’ll probably disappoint you when it doesn’t do what it says it will in the ads

Flights cost different depending where you leave from btw for me that would be 2k round trip an international flight has never usually been 380 last minute

It’s also pretty difficult to catch the solar eclipse in Iceland, and I do know about that cuz I’m a travel vlogger

True. An airport near me recently partnered with Iceland air, so $380 is how much it was costing here

They had some pretty good deals, still do. Just not as good as before the sale they had going for marketing ended. Now it’s sitting at around $500 round trip. Still way cheaper than most other international trips though

That’s actually super cool I have yet to see an international flight that cheap so I wish my area had deals like that I’d be all over it

Yeah I’m glad the airports in my area have been reaching out for partnerships like that lately. I didn’t have a passport at the time or I totally would’ve gone. I’m getting one now though to make sure I don’t miss out on opportunities like that next time. If you’re curious which airport, it’s the Nashville airport

I don’t live in Nashville but it’s close enough (just a 2 hour drive) for me to still consider it as one of my options for airports to use. For me my realistic options are Atlanta, Chattanooga, Nashville, and Huntsville. All of them have deals if the flight timings align with travel availability. I’ve just been waiting for those to align, but I completely forgot about not having a passport until it was too late lol

It also would’ve been nice if my university was one of the teams that traveled over since I went with one of the teams that helped NASA collect data from the one in April 2024, but unfortunately I think that project kinda fell behind due to budget issues so it is what it is
