I’m very against AI and my parents use AI every second of their lives. They keep saying “well no matter what you do you will have to use Ai it’s unavoidable” not unless I kill myself!

The companies WANT you to think it’s unavoidable so you’ll give in and use it. It’s nothing more than a marketing strategy. If we stop using it it WILL go away

You are naïve if you really think that. Unless all technology is done away with technological advancement will always be sought after. AI is here to stay, for better, or for worse.

Progress is not your friend, progress puts people out of work. AI is progress. This isn’t Oz, you can’t click your heels and insist “AI WILL go away.” I don’t like it, but this is the new world, this technology is here to stay, whether you like it or not. And it does good, look at its ability to detect cancer. Far and above more accurate than any human alive or dead. That is an undeniable good.

First of all, I’m not “clicking my heels,” I’m part of a large boycott against AI. Boycotts DO WORK. Second, there is a huge difference between the AI used to detect cancer, and the kind that plagiarizes from artists and writers and causes media literacy decline in users at best, and addiction and psychosis at worst. Your pessimistic attitude is killing people whose water sources have been contaminated by data centers. They need you to do SOMETHING. Stop pretending there’s nothing you can do.
