my ex and i didnt listen to exactly the same stuff but we had similar taste and we put each other onnnnn i still listen to some of the stuff he recommended me (unless it reminds me of him) and im willing to bet he still listens to songs he snatched from my playlists, he used to play them when he was working and would even get compliments

I actually don’t mind it. My last gf introduced me to her music and I introduced her to mine and pretty much blended our music tastes together

tbf I feel like that means you still had an overlap in taste even if you hadn’t explored each other’s artists/genres yet, otherwise you wouldn’t have enjoyed each other’s music

That’s very true, and I also think it was partly due to the fact we were both just very interested in what the other person liked (including other things than just music). At this point though I listen to so many genres of music it would be hard for me to find something I didn’t like
