He’s mad bc of my circumstances and doesn’t see my agency day to day in trying to improve. I wonder whether If deep down hed be happier without me in his life.

He’s likely actually mad because he misses you and hates that he has to be so far. Putting yourself in that state of mind asking if he hates you or not is poisoning the well
