I heard voices one time while on a mountain climb that told me to jump (I was injured + very nutrient deficient and dehydrated at the time)

That’s an actual phenomenon named call of the void when climbers have experiences on mountain tops

Obviously I didn’t do it but it still was scary. I don’t generally tell the story in its entirety (I usually leave out the hearing voices part)

Is part of it due to the altitude

Not to dismiss this but does call off the void ever present as auditory hallucinations? (Genuinely asking cause I thought it was only a feeling)

Oh cool, I always assumed what happened to me was a potential sign of underlying issues that was exacerbated by the dehydration; honestly kind of makes me feel better to know that might be a somewhat normal experience

Well it’s still not normal but you being dehydrated and at a high altitude all takes affect in making your brain see and hear things that are not there.
