In my experience, anyone who’d react like this was looking for an excuse to do so (or to sabotage the relationship) anyway, and was absolutely not objective enough to or capable of accurately gauging whether their partner was flirting

Have you at least talked to him about it first? Not that I'm telling you how to do your relationship but this is definitely the more dangerous thing to do unless you really don't care about the relationship
