“Youre ugly but your other attributes make up for it” “I don’t like flashy cars, but the stereo system makes up for it” “I don’t usually do this but you’re a special case”. Yeah shut up, later in tbe future you’ll be saying how “I don’t even find him attractive”. If your partner said the same about you, would you stay?

Believe me a compliment on your personality is way better than someone saying you are good looking. I hate when someone says “ you are cute” or anything about something that I haven’t contributed in making it.
