Not that you’re looking for advice but maybe just prepare yourself for him saying he doesn’t like you back. I once lost my very good friend because he said he had feelings and couldn’t continue our friendship because I didn’t return them. I completely understand that he needed space in order to move on but it was sad to loose such a good friend

As a straight guy. Assuming your friend is also a straight guy, chances are he likes you back. As rough as this is, guys don’t tend to try to closely befriend a girl unless there’s some level of alterior motive.

This is true but it could also not be. I’m friends with plenty of girls and I’ve got no ulterior motive lol. And I’m straight. The best one could be that he’d like to be hooked up with a homegirl here and there but it’s been 6+ years feelings probably are not there. Long game to play ngl

No. Both of you need to get a little tipsy together (you less) and you just pose it as a spontaneous on the dot idea. Like maybe what if we dated or what would it be like if we dated or do you ever wonder what it would be like for us to date?? See how the idea is received then a few days later if you feel it was positive shoot for it. Love is risking everything even if it could all disappear if it went wrong. Best of luck.
