“There are people who have it worse” Yeah fuck you. Yeah, someone has it worse, but I am also suffering. By that logic as long as someone isn’t being starved and tortured, they can’t be upset. Maybe not even then.

“Children are starving in Africa” Yes, and my eating disorder has made me not able to eat in days. “Did you die?” No, but I wanted to from the pain.

Like yeah, but this would be like if someone is screaming their head off for having a finger sawed off with a butter knife, and someone else is having their arm chopped off the same way. Both of them are going to be utterly miserable, and in severe pain. You wouldn’t tell the guy losing a finger that he should stop crying. And people seem to LOVE to do this with mental health too. Like yeah, I wasn’t A Child Called It, but that doesn’t mean my childhood trauma didn’t cause me severe issues.

Someone who drowned in 5 inches of water is not better off than someone who drowned in 50 feet of water. Just because the situations are different doesn’t mean they can’t both warrant the feelings they conjured up
