I think a lot more people are demisexual than realize it….like 40% of people at least. i know hookup culture is rampant online but there’s no way that many people are capable of feeling sexual attraction to complete strangers or people they just met???
but let me preface actually (well postface ig) by saying i’m asexual myself… so maybe im still just having a hard time grasping the concept of arosexual (non-asexual) people

Everyone is capable of feeling sexual attraction to someone they just met

Some people just subconsciously repress sexual desire due to past trauma

And yess it is exceedingly normal

i mean there’s def demisexual people who don’t feel sexual attraction until they are close with the person. I can’t speak for them but I don’t have any trauma

If a trait like that existed naturally it would have been breed out through natural selection. Humans are all very similar. And the thing about repressing is that you usually don’t realize you’re doing it

well sexuality isn’t genetic. and yeah i guess people can have trauma they don’t remember, but i don’t really know how that works. there’s no fear surrounding sex for me i don’t think. i’m just not interested in it and im not interested in other peoples bodies like that

Everything is genetic. Our personalities come from evolution that’s why we have trouble adjusting to a world where we have everything we need to survive. Everytime something bad happens to you, your brain remembers it. Thats how trauma works. You never truly forget
