5 years ago I was homeless, had a mental breakdown and almost šŸ’€ myself. Now I haven’t touched drink or drugs in 5 years, got a decent job, a roof over my head and will be getting a car soon. Thank you God.

Absolutely it takes determination from the individual but if op wants to attribute part of their success to a religion they believe in, how is that wrong? Who are you to stop them?

Because there was no ā€œgodā€ involved, it’s ALL of OP’s success. OP did it. That’s why. They don’t deserve to have their success taken from them.

And yet the glory is theirs because it’s entirely their effort, NOT some fictional character.

What’s selfish is wanting people to renounce their success and claim it was by mythical figures instead of recognising that it was for and by themselves.

None of us would be here without that ā€œfictional characterā€, I pray that you allow Him into your heart and find joy in His love.

Yeah, no. There have been tens of thousands of gods to fill in the gaps of knowledge. Yours has definitely been one of the worst and the least plausible. Time to grow up.

time to grow up, but sitting here on yikyak arguing about beliefs?

Yeah, because you’re too old to believe in Santa or the Tooth Fairy and too old to think some psychopathic character from an old myth has a personal relationship with you when you have absolutely zero evidence for its existence.

Yeah, attacking someone for their beliefs is not okay. I kinda side with 8. I’d much sooner believe that aliens created us than things all just happened randomly. The big bang contradicts the 2nd law of thermodynamics, so science can’t explain it either. Jesus is Lord.

ā€œI don’t have answers and don’t understand the scientific process, therefore godā€ isn’t a valid approach. Especially not the abrahamic god. 🤣

I’m probably more educated than you in regards to science, but if you feel like dunking on someone anonymously gives you the validation that your bitter existence needs to justify another day on this floating rock, so be it. It’s all love. I will be praying that you find some peace in your heart. I recommend reading Ecclesiastes, because it talks about the meaninglessness of life. Worth a read.

Jesus is lord, and died for you. Whether you believe or not, He allows us to choose and live the way we want. Our outcome following our life on earth will be a depiction of what we believe on earth, Jesus loves us and I’ll be praying for you, friend.

Yeah, no. Never happened and your ā€œgodā€ is nothing more than fiction, written as an abusive and heartless entity to use to establish control and scare others into obedience. Time to grow up.

Do doubt people have used the idea of God to manipulate others, that is wrong. As followers of Jesus, we are called to be loving to everyone (even enemies), to be compassionate, to be generous, and to be forgiving (even to enemies). If you really knew science, the best argument to a divine creator would the complexity of the design of eukaryotic organisms. Cars are leagues of magnitude less complex than animals, yet you never see any machine randomly assembling itself. We were created.

Awe, prayer. Cute. Means nothing and does even less. Y’all aren’t loving. Your book is disgustingly abusive, scientifically and historically inaccurate, sexist, misogynistic, ableist, and just all around a bad time. It’s riddled with contradictions. Your cult has 45,000+ denominations and hundreds of variant bibles (in just English). And you think you have it right? Y’all can even agree with each other. šŸ˜‚

The truth is you don’t want to believe in God. You don’t want the guard rails or constraints on your life because you would rather live selfishly for yourself. You would rather mock and insult for a reaction, but you won’t get one from me. There is nothing wrong with people pursuing meaning. Refute my argument science boy. If you wanted a real answer, scripture is clear about the many parts of the ā€œbody of Christā€, and it’s true that some denominations lean into heresy and that’s not good.

There is no reason to believe in your variation of it, especially if you ACTUALLY read the bible. I’ve read it cover to cover unlike the vast majority of y’all. It’s shitty. You know nothing about me. I know my morals make me much better than your ā€œgodā€ could ever be shown to be. Your cult is just that. Your numbers are dropping. We live in REALITY. Again, time to grow up. You’re too old to make a fool of yourself like this, and too old to be diminishing OP’s successes.

There’s a reason religion is dying, and it’s beautiful to see more people finding truth, rather than being held down by your lies.

There was no diminishing effect on saying we are proud of OP’s accomplishments, and OP is thanking God in a positive light, just mind your own and don’t say anything if you don’t agree. Simple as that.

Y’all did. Your nonsense made OP feel like they couldn’t do it without some fictional piece of shit. Keep your abusive cult in the past, simple as that. 😊
