If my kid came out as trans I wouldn't care in any serious sense but I would be like damn there's a 95% chance my kid is a loser hanging out with furries or some shit because how'd you even come up with that and you're 15

you said you wouldnt care and yet theres a lot of transphobia in what you said. 1) plenty of children realize theyre trans on their own. 2) why would knowing about trans ppl mean ur kid is hanging out with furry losers? do you think all trans people are furries and “losers”? 3) whats wrong with being a furry? is it wrong to have interests outside of the norm? if your answer is yes, then wont that apply to most queer people? because a lot of us express ourselves differently from the mainstream

Honestly I’m impressed you’ve managed to probably piss off just about every group of people with this post

Trans people, furries, and 15 year olds are every group of people?

No but by playing both sides, attacking both sides, and falling down the middle you’re gonna piss off anti trans people for being pro trans but piss off the pro trans people for using words like loser and being anti furry

I like to think of it as being net neutral

That’s my point. Your overall neutrality is gonna piss everyone off because we live in a time where you’re demanded to pick a side lol

Nobody's holding a gun to your head saying you have to think furries are cool, it's really not that serious lol

3.) I never said there was anything wrong with being a furry. I do think they're weird though. That's my opinion it is what it is lol 2.) you gotta find community somewhere, the weirdos are usually where you find it when you're a kid not following the norms. College is where you can find community with normal people 1.) literally how lol with zero exposure to anything how would you find out anything

Also on #1, looking back in hindsight and being like okay yeah I was always like this is not the same as being a kid who just figured it out with no outside influence

1.) Idk man. I told my mom when I was like 8 that my brain felt different from my body. I didn’t have the language at the time to say “oh I think I’m trans!” But I felt the disconnect when I was young. And then ofc my mom looked at me like I was this gross disgusting thing and we didn’t bring it up again and I forgot until I was a teenager. But also, it’s not super uncommon for trans people to start feeling that dysphoria when puberty hits and your body starts changing dramatically and shit 🤷

I'm not saying dysphoria can't or doesn't happen when people are young, I'm saying coming out as trans vs feeling like something is off are two very different steps. Like if you're not in spaces were being trans even comes to mind as an option, you prob would just think you're gay at 15 and then eventually figure out the rest
