the idea of having a “type” is lowk crazy to me. like fym you’ll only ever date/be attracted to one type of person? and if someone deviates from that you can’t like them?? huh??

I find that “types” allow people a way to talk about deviating from standard beauty practices. P sure I’m a “type” — cis dude who has only dated bi/queer girls, not because of any particular effort or weird fetishizing, just cuz I have a certain effeminate way about my demeanor & body

If someone doesn’t meet your standards it’s totally normal not to want them

When someone mentions they have a “type” it could just mean they are usually attracted to that sense/ person more than others. It’s not a bad thing until it’s “no they can only be that type”, and that’s when it becomes an issue
