
I think it is highly context dependent. Misogyny jokes that’s coming from a genuine place? That’s not funny that’s just bigotry. It’s shitty and punching down. However, a misogyny joke where ppl know it’s not serious, and the comedy is in the absurdity of misogyny itself, I think that can be funny. It’s dependent on context and on company.
Like those times people just say racist shit and pretend it’s a joke? Unfunny, shitty, that’s just being racist. But if the joke is being racist against like welsh people or Swedes, where the joke is the absurdity because there’s no actual racism behind it, that can be funny. But the people you’re making the joke to need to know you aren’t actually bigoted.
