Hm, yes. Also understand that you can correct someone and be humble about it. 1980, Borderline PD was considered under bp2. Sounds like they got their wires crossed. The world is changing and new developments are always being found. Just because you have the diagnosis, doesn’t make you more knowledgeable about the disorder.

I also hate when im speaking about MY diagnosis and someone responds with “uh actually ur wrong bpd is just a symptom of bp2” that’s so invalidating.

I was humble about it. All I said in reply to his comment was “actually borderline is its own diagnosis” and he blocked me. You’re the one who doesn’t seem humble at all.

it’s almost 2026, if you’re still repeating shit from 1980 that is your own issue for not educating yourself on current times. wtf is ur issue

Damn, I was blocked when I went back to this post. Uhm, no we want to be aware of history so it doesn’t repeat itself. Being gay was in the DSM, I’m so glad that’s gone.

I think you misunderstood my comment. While we should be aware of history we should also stop claiming things as accurate when we’ve scientifically progressed from those times. Something from 1980 shouldn’t be spouted as true in 2025.

Yea, I understand but it’s just an odd thing to say it’s your diagnoses as well. I don’t understand why it’s relevant to what you were arguing. I agree that science, specifically mental health has come a long way. Adding that you’re diagnosed with the disorder, was that to back up your argument? Getting information from online? Like you said, it’s almost 2026 online resources are where most people get their information. Just check the sources to make sure they are correct.

It’s relevant because i made the original post about having bpd. It’s relevant because i commented saying i had both bpd and bipolar to just be immediately invalidated by someone. I added that i was diagnosed with it because im the one who originally posted this entire thread. I didn’t just reply to someone’s claim and say “oh well im diagnosed and I know better than you” all I did was say im diagnosed with birth and they chose to reply to me so I replied to stop spreading misinformation.

I think you’re just trying to argue for no reason. Never once did I make the claim that I know better than someone else. All I said is people shouldn’t spread misinformation. And me having this diagnosis is relevant AF. I live with it everyday.

Mhm, heard. Valid. What type of audience were you looking to have after saying you had this dual diagnosis?

Audience? im not looking for an audience. im not the only one with comorbid diagnosis. Many people are diagnosed with multiple disorders. I’m just trying to educate people who think “you can only have one” Im confused by this comment tbh
