I come from the other side of this. If there’s feelings but nothing happens, eventually one of you will find someone else and then you’ll drop the other because you don’t want temptation in the relationship. If you have feelings, go for it and take it slow. Everyone you date is either a good for right now, or a forever and you can loose out on a possible beautiful forever or an awesome good for right now that you’ll remember for the rest of your life by worrying it won’t be forever.
