If they’re truly a loved one yes. Should be somewhat traumatic. But if you’re no stranger to death or something similar it wouldn’t impose a traumatic response.. but still should mean something deep down if they were close to you..

it's a very genuine question. a few years ago when this person died and i started going to therapy, the therapist had said that the death was traumatic, but my sister had said what i was experiencing was more so grief than trauma. i guess, for several reasons, i accepted it as such. today i heard someone refer to it as a traumatic event again, remembered that time, and became confused.

Okay I thought u was on bs sorry. It is a traumatic experience. Trauma is something that happens that leaves invisible wounds on the body. I’m sure at the time you accepted ur sisters terminology because that perhaps helped you cope , but the reality is you lost someone you valued and loved and the experience of that grief is extremely traumatic. I’d wager that you still think or feel strongly about that person to this day.

True. Any and everyone can tell you their experience with trauma and loss but it’s also different to any and everyone.. main thing about it is realizing it happens to each amd eveyone of us at someones point and you can’t escape it. Sad reality that everyone has to pay the tollat some point. Some are taken too young others live to see everyone they know and love go before them.. it’s life.. cherish the times you had with them amd look forward to sharing stories with them when you join them some
