Its a celebration over the battle of Puebla where mexico beat france… sure its not widely celebrated in mexico but its become a mexican-American holiday thanks to the chicano movement in the 60’s. Sybau

It’s important to our history but it became very commercially important and successful here due to drinking tequila and partying rather than accepting it was a cool victory that seemed unlikely
