Ik I shouldn’t be but im so tired of hearing abt how much evry1 hates yt ppl. Just like im tired of no one knowing the dif between culture appreciation vs appropriation.

It’s def intention first. Like we’re all human lmao. I’m black dating a white man and he’s open minded so I can teach him things he’s not super informed on but it’s not from a place of hate or shame, it’s awesome to share culture!!!! Humans are awesome like we need more love not hate… in my opinion

Like it’s not that I don’t understand yt ppl fked up historically. But also, my ancestors weren’t even in the U.S. I’m only a second gen citizen

This! It’s not that I hate learning the history nor the effects of current oppression systems. I just hate the division and the constant “you’re wrong for not constantly being apologetic” mentality I’ve been seeing a lot lately. I LOVE cultural appreciation. I wish more people were educated on the difference between appropriating a culture and PARTICIPATING in it respectfully

It’s like, my closest friend is Jewish. I’ve dated Jewish individuals. Do I hate nazis? Absofkinglutely. But do I hate Germans? No. I’m not gonna hate an entire region because their ancestors did a horrendous thing. Each race, region, country, etc. has pros, cons, bad apples, and terrible history but it’s all in advocating for change in CURRENT times yk?
