Having kids in the US costs a shit ton more than other developed countries despite having a way higher infant mortality rate and more risks to the mothers. Having kids here is dumb in the first place.

Honestly, I agree fully. And I feel like it’s naive when people tell me I’m wrong for thinking like this. “It’s never a perfect time for a family” yea of course not Linda! But there’s definitely gotta be a better time than this!!

Maybe if we stopped aborting babies, our infant mortality rate wouldn’t be so high.

Maybe we should discuss our education system while we’re at it maybe focus on the definition of infant and abortion.

my fav take is “well if people waited until everything was stable, almost nobody would be having kids.” like, that’s kind of the desired outcome tbh

maybe if we stopped blocking lifesaving reproductive care our infant and maternal mortality rate wouldn’t be so high

fr, loving how they left out the fact that a high maternal mortality rate comes with a high infant mortality rate. the US is the highest in both compared to other developed countries. reliable access to healthcare, focus on womens’ health, and abortion matter
