And this isn’t even a “good luck babe” situation. Like yes we’re both queer but she’s married to a man, and also I genuinely am not sexually attracted to her, she’s like my sister more than anything else. But like if I found out people were writing crazy smut fic or fanart I would not be bothered. Hell yeah she is my favorite person glad we all agree. Why do men always act like gay RPF is the worst shit imaginable 💀

I think it’s because celebrities are constantly in the spotlight and it’s annoying having perfectly normal friendships get ruined by rumors and speculation when people (paps) are constantly stalking you to get the scoop. Not to mention people sending death threats over these things (fans sending them to the speculated partner of the celeb in question)

I’m going to say this as respectfully and politely as I can but being a celebrity is a choice. Nobody is forcing them to do that. They can go back to Nowhere, Virginia and do community theatre. They can get a job at an accounting firm or in PR. Paparazzi and stalking are extremely different than a gay teen’s AO3 fanfiction; but imo the fact that a lot of male celebs treat the fanfic as if it’s even worse than the paparazzi is genuinely buckwild to me.

It’s still weird to make fan fiction about real people. Fictional characters is one thing but to do it about actual people is just weird. Gay, straight, it’s weird and gross to fantasize about someone else’s romantic and/or sex lives especially without their permission.
