my friends are nice and have given me so much but is it bad to say i feel like they don’t understand me and it almost makes me not want to be friends with them? they’ve done nothing wrong and i feel guilty for not feeling fulfilled in my friendships

i feel the same way a lot of the time. we have to realize that the feeling of being understood and being at home comes from within. just enjoy your friends for who they are, not what they can do for you 🫶🏻

i think that’s another reason i don’t want to be friends with them. i don’t feel good enough for them and like i deserve to be alone

you sound like one of my friends that I’m lowkey getting sick of. Best advice I’d give is just reciprocate their efforts or I’m sure they’ll feel unfulfilled too.

why are you friends with someone you don’t like?

It’s not that I don’t like her. But I’m growing tired because she doesn’t match my energy in our friendship. I give so much that I’m growing resentful. She doesn’t have much friends & seems to overthink everything. But its getting old.

I’m just providing another perspective that your friends may feel unfulfilled too, not just you.

i think you should stop being friends with her. i would feel horrible if i found out one of my friends was exhausted at my presence. this is kind of why i wanna stop being friends with my friend group. i don’t want to lie and pretend it’s working, that just feels wrong.

maybe. that’s probably why we should find new people who fulfill us. i feel guilty about it but idk

I’m exhausted by her lack of effort not her presence, there’s a difference. But she doesn’t seem to have the capacity to pour into our friendship in the same way so I don’t mind just keeping her as an acquaintance or something. You should definitely find new friends tho. You can get all your needs met from 1 friend or group. That’s unrealistic

i don’t think i really want any friends at all tbh. i feel bad having them at all. i know they can’t meet all of mind needs but it makes me hyperaware when they’re near that i don’t feel seen. i think i need to be alone.

You can definitely find someone/a group that makes you feel more seen. But even my bestie of almost 20 yrs doesn’t meet all my needs in a friend & she’s like a sister to me. That’s why it’s nice to have variety. But if you’re constantly feeling out of place then it sounds like a mismatch. But don’t be too hard on yourself. We all deserve community.
