definitely nots universal thing but if i had to guess the reason for the pattern is a lot of us are accustomed to white girls giving compliments as condescension so it might be wariness due to that

I’m not trying to make a racist point, I just wanna know if I’m doing something wrong or if there is a better way for me to compliment someone and let them know I just think they are a gorgeous human being. If there’s a better way for me to say it please let me know

yea you can’t prove it but i wouldn’t stop giving the compliments even if they don’t receive them well outwardly subconsciously they do
