Yeah but people date family friends quite often. I’ve definitely introduced or been introduced to someone called a family friend who is an ex. Saying “this is me ex” explains nothing about 1. How you know them or met them. 2. Everyone’s relation to the person. 3. Why you are still in contact with the person. Saying family friend seems more accurate but you should let the person you are dating know that they are also your ex

People honestly forget that someone they have been close to all their life is an ex. Some people might leave it out purposely but like some people genuinely forget they used to date the person or forget that ppl don’t automatically know that.
