Everyone’s always like “lightning cable this” and “USB-C that” but can we all just collectively agree that mini-USB was an absolutely awful idea and never should’ve been used for anything? Whenever I have to interact with it it’s always the most annoying.

Also older HDD units and DLSR photo transfer. Even Canon used it on the Rebel EOS line past 2017.

For the HDD drives I should say not mini-USB into the computer, obviously that’s USB-A, but the cord connecting to the drive. Thing is, the one I’m working through right now is a Seagate too, they typically make great stuff but this specific old USB 2.0 HDD has mini-USB for some stupid reason.

Right? It’s awful. At least if I lose or break a USB-C, Micro-USB, or Lightning cable I can easily go get a replacement from Dollar Tree in a pinch, but it’s tough to even find Mini-USB cables tot he point where I only have 2. And not all are made equal mind you, the one that came with my speaker from the Coca-Cola museum can charge it just fine, but can’t be used for photo transfer.

Depends on the model I suppose because my kindle paperwhite uses micro-usb. That said, it is a 2014 model so maybe it’s different on other models and years.
