i’ve noticed people will openly refuse to believe the truth if subconsciously it’s a threat to some part of their identity. like if they admitted one thing was true, it would unravel a lot of lies that they’ve built their whole life and personality around. this is one reason people are republican. acknowledging they’re right wing pos would make their whole life fall apart. and most people aren’t willing to go through that to learn the truth
