This is happening now to an extent, the US military has already been confirmed to be taking moderate input based on AI systems and making critical decisions in active operations based on then. AI isn't sentient yet (despite what the media alarmists and AI company propaganda tries to tell you), but it's still so damn dangerous to take its input seriously in important, real-life situations.
