First off, fuck Lindsay Clancy. But “believe the woman” is in regard to rape victims because rape is much harder to prove and a lot of the time men get away with it. It’s about actually listening to their story rather than dismissing their experience. It’s why a lot of rape victims don’t end up speaking up at all because a lot of people won’t believe them if there isn’t hard evidence, which oftentimes, there isn’t. “Believe the woman” doesn’t at all apply to the Clancy case.
