there needs to be some type of two step verification to have children. if the gov’t can find a temporary way to keep ppl from getting pregnant and require psychological evaluations, that would be great.

I think I see where u are coming from but the unfortunate reality is that the US has heavy unconscious racism/bias (as well as VERY conscious) this would become a way to control minority populations

How is asking for someone to prioritize their mental health before bringing another life that will be solely dependent on you and will actually have an affect said mental health that could be detrimental a bad sentiment?

meds do work in some cases (though i admit not mine) and are evidence someone is seeking treatment. as long as they're trying. but saying ppl with mh conditions shouldn't have babies, i understand where it comes from but it's questionable

Seeking treatment is not the same as responding well to treatment. I never said people with mh concerns shouldn’t have kids like ever, I just think they should prioritize themselves and get themselves in a proper place before kids. But also if they are going to have kids with a lot of them they can’t take the meds during gestation or breast feeding.
