BMI is super inaccurate and should never be used to judge your “healthiness” I lift regularly and I weigh over 200 pounds but I’m very lean at 11% body fat. BMI tells me I’m obese when really my weight comes from muscle. So try not to take BMI too seriously as I’m sure that you are not overweight. :))
For all the comments saying this or that about BMI, the fact that you were big before, and am now close to being in a “healthy BMI” says a lot, regardless of whether it’s off by a little or whatever. I’m basically trying to say great job to you on losing the weight and becoming more healthy. It takes a lot of discipline and willpower to do that!!
This makes me think of my bestfriend from my teens. We both were always bbw and she was so against skinny people. Everytime I would speak about us hanging out with another person she always asked "is she skinny?" Finally I asked her why and she said "skinny girls are mean & fat girls shouldn't b friends with skinny girls " she always stood by that too. Been big my whole life also but it's really about how you carry yourself. 🤷🏻♀️ CONGRATS SKINNY BISHHH! 😍
this isn’t necessarily true.. i’m an athlete that gets injured too often. it really doesn’t take a lot of muscle to affect bmi. 5lbs of fat is roughly the same size as a basketball. 5 pounds of fat would take up roughly 87% of that space, so like a child’s size basketball (ages 5-8). it doesn’t take a huge amount of muscle to seriously affect BMI. if you exercise regularly your muscle-fat ratio will change enough to affect BMI. i gain weight rly fast when i’m getting in shape. muscle>>fat weight
PART 1 Calorie deficit and cardio. Eat healthy low calorie foods and try to stay under your maintenance level. For example if you’re regularly eating 3000 calories a day, cut it to 2500, then eventually you can cut it to 2000 and even less although I wouldn’t recommend that if you’re not like bodybuilding. And then you gotta do cardio everyday. Not even necessarily hitting the treadmill or bike but making sure you’re getting well over 10000 steps a day.
PART 2 10000 steps should be the bare minimum. You should aim for 15000- 20000. Though the treadmill does help too. One thing that helped me a ton was the 12-3-30 method. Get on the treadmill, set the incline to 12, speed to 3, and do that for AT LEAST 30 minutes. It’s really hard at first but if you do it everyday it’ll get easier. It helped me cut from 16-12% body fat and lose 15 pounds in like 4 weeks
I started 3 weeks ago! I’m doing keto, however; with my current job I had to push away from that and now I must find a different diet plan that can fit how active I became. Recently with the lack of carbs I’ve been getting lightheaded much faster and water isn’t helping due to how fast it just gets pushed out. If you or anyone here has any knowledge on how I can continue this weight loss with minimal carbs, DM me please!
