I hate when people do not understand the complexities of femcels. As a past femcel YES they are awful, but most are coming from either extreme mental illness and/or repeated past abuse from men. It isn’t just being ‘lonely’ it’s feeling inhuman. And I’m—

Same arguments could be made for incels 🤷‍♂️ i think tbh you don’t get a pass for treating people like shit because of what happened in your past/your mental illnesses. you still have a responsibility to be a decent as functional member of society

Not saying it’s an excuse. But to help problems like femcels and incels you need to have the nuance that this didn’t suddenly happen, this is the result of our world, their past experience, what they’re going through now, the echo chamber they are in, etc. to help these people you need to see the whole picture. And honestly, in my experience the only way they change is if they snap out of it themselves

That’s where most incels come from also. Mental illness and past abuse from women

Literally what I added to the second part of my post. But femcels have a different level of nuance than incels, just like incels have a different level of nuance than femcels. These are separate entities, and it’s more than just “oh you’re just lonely”. Mentally ill people cannot change unless either they’re given patience (which not everyone has, I certainly don’t) or they realize they’re wrong (which was what happened with me)

nah but there are plenty of lonely people in the world, only like a lil pie slice decide they wanna take it out on the other gender, personally i think it comes from a lack of accountability on both sides, like you were saying about the echo chamber. i also think mental health should focus more on teaching people how to like, function

It’s both lack of accountability + a feeling of entitlement. But to go to femcel/incel corners stem from both mental illness and/or past trauma and slipping into the spaces slowly. And that nuance is needed to actually address the issue.
