Yeah attraction is complicated. But having sex and having certain genitalia you can and can’t be attracted is NOT complicated. Nobody chooses to be a homosexual or straight. Homosexual men don’t like vagina.. Identity and sexuality shouldn’t be so closely knit. You can be a straight, bisexual or homosexual trans person just like any cis person can be. It’s not a big deal.
They can identify as trans lesbians, but any lesbian who has sex with them is.. bisexual. unless you only date t women with bottom surgery. genuinely, genitalia drives sexuality. it shouldn’t be about validation or affirmation. We need to unweave sexuality and gender identity and labels in general
My ex broke up with me because she realized she was a lesbian and then got with a trans woman. Saying this invalidates the identity of trans women as women. When I am attracted to someone it is based on a lot more than what’s in their pants. I think we should place less emphasis on labels. Which is why policing lesbianism based on genitalia is bad.
I think it’s much much better to treat genital preference as something separate from gender attractiveness. They often correlate but not always. That way you can acknowledge that preferences exist without invalidating identities which are highly intertwined with social attraction and other biological elements.
