I’ve been a lifelong republican and this was the first election I’ve ever voted democrat. Feels kind of weird.

Libertarian, usually have a good bit of third party or non partisan options in local elections. I was damn near straight Democrat this cycle bc that was the only option that wanted to get rid of flock, data centers, and leave us fucking alone

Maybe bc you’re an actual republican who wants to see a real conservative in power not a phony like Trump and the MAGATs. As a libertarian, also had to vote blue.

Yeah it’s kind of crazy. I’m from a really rural and hard right area and for most of my life never really questioned it. But I’ve had a lot of doubts about my party since Trump’s first election in 2016. This time I finally decided to stop just following the herd and follow my heart and voted Dem. My wife and daughters won’t speak to me now though. I tried to convince them beforehand but they’re hard right.

They’ll understand why in the future. It’s not about siding w Dems it’s about particular policies and what is in most people’s best interests

Similar situation here, I've been a centrist for most of adult life, have flip-flopped on sides in the past depending on political climate and what both sides were pitching. I think data centers and AI were a pretty significant part of this election though, you can see that in some of the polls leading up to it. Tbh, if the Dems become as ideologically captured as the Repubs on that front over the next few years... well, idk what'll happen, because it's a non-starter as far as I'm concerned.
