The baptizing on behalf of dead people is horrifying. Cult behavior

Half of my family are mormons (yes, they live in Utah). One time my mom came across something in a children’s book for mormons. It was the story of Cane and Abel. Except when god struck down Abel he turned black (like blackface) and that was his punishment. It was an old book tho ig 😭😭

having interacted with many mormons growing up (parents in an mlm) they are all weird and rude and judgmental. how are you going to judge people when you are weird? every single one of them

They believe children born out of wedlock to parents who are unwilling to marry should be put up for adoption, which tells you everything you need to know

The thing I don’t understand about Mormonism is that they claim the Bible is a valid book, but then add to the Bible with the Book of Mormon, which directly contradicts what the Bible says. ā€œAnd I solemnly declare to everyone who hears the words of prophecy written in this book: If anyone adds anything to what is written here, God will add to that person the plagues described in this book.ā€ Revelation‬ ‭22‬:‭18‬ ‭NLT‬‬. Can anyone explain their logic for that? I don’t know a lot about it

I’m not a Mormon but I genuinely would like to have a decent conversation with one so that I can learn more about their beliefs because I have A LOT of questions. Please pm me if you are one

And yes, there is much much much more that scares me about Mormons, but this was my first thought.

Not to mention, they were taught there was a hierarchy of who gets into heaven first and last: take your guess on what that looks like šŸ’€

Oh don’t worry. I’m positive one will come to your house one of these days and not leave you alone until you get to have that conversation.

They believe they can save people in the afterlife with it.. That’s why they own all the genealogy websites. To baptize everyone one day.

They also don’t show up alone. They will never talk to you alone. They will show up with several of their friends. It’s a CULT

Yep I know it’s a cult. But as with all religions I aim to seek understanding of this one by talking one on one with a Mormon

Good for you! I also grew up in Utah and I can agree. Mormons are just like any other group of people there are great and terrible ones

Gotcha. The whole addition of the Book of Mormon to the Bible proves the fallacy of their beliefs in the first place, but there’s plenty of other things about it that’s kinda out there.
