You’re actually not supposed to cut the umbilical cord right away, as there are health benefits to leaving it intact for at least a few minutes. Regardless, obviously the umbilical cord would not be permanently attached to the child throughout their life. Having a foreskin is permanent, unless someone permanently forces it to be amputated.
