Have y'all noticed how verbally illiterate everyone is? Bc no one reads anymore, the range of words/vocab ppl use when speaking is very small and bland.

I'm constantly praised for my 'unique/colorful way of speaking' while I literally just use some less than SUPER AVERAGE BASIC words. I should NOT be getting praised for that. We need to step it up guys 😭

This is important because just last week a video of Tate celebrating why he doesn't read resurfaced. The world has got to the stage of celebrating idiocy and proving that ignorance is bliss.

Yes. The English language by itself has soo many words that have been phased out as time as gone on. It makes you wonder what the future will look like.

HOWEVER, many new words have also been created. Language is always about culture at the end of the day, and many words simply have no reason to be used anymore. For example, a Bematist is a Greek/Egytian surveyor who measured distances. They were literally walking rulers, measuring by feet. Now where would you realistically ever use that word?

Likewise, plenty of new words or slang were familiar with describe our culture now. With enough time, they’ll also be phased out and replaced with others.
