saw a video of a man who flexed how he wouldn’t date someone fat, all the comments agreeing, and all i can think about is how when my sister got cancer she quite literally inflated & had no control over it. but out in public, you’d never know that’s why.

Very sorry for your sister, I hope she reached remission :( but even without a serious medical condition behind someone’s weight, I think it’s the dumbest fucking criteria to judge someone on. I don’t think it says too much about someone’s character. And people love to say fatness = laziness, but I know a lot of overweight people who are extremely motivated and hardworking, and a lot of skinny people who just sit on the couch all day doing nothing with zero drive.

like it’s so easy to be cruel nowadays and say you judge someone off looks, to be “edgy,” to make it seem like appearance = character, but there’s a reason the fundamentals of being a good person are not to judge people off their appearance.

Fully agree, we learn not to judge books by their covers as kids because it’s foundational to morality—our compassion should not be based on how the other person looks!

Absolutely! If anything, not having societally desirable looks builds better character. I was bullied in school for my looks then got absolutely smacked by second puberty, so I know how awful it feels to be on the receiving end, and how far simple kindness goes. I now have the empathy and understanding not to judge people off of first impressions or looks, even though now I look like I was always attractive
