It’s ok. A lot of people living on their own are living paycheck to paycheck. Live with your parents for 2-3 years to save up a chunk of money and then you can move out

you’re definitely not alone and it’s not anything you’re doing wrong. it’s the economy our generation has been handed. it might take a few years but it’ll work out. it’s normal to feel jealous i did too just focus on your own journey as much as you can.

People have already said it, but as someone that got a job at the lower end of what was possible and wanting to live in Florida, it’s rough. 67K a year becomes significantly less after taxes. I’ve chosen to stay home to save up money and skip out paying $1800 monthly since I’m not willing to room with strangers.

Coming from a entrepreneur success looks different for everyone. You gotta look at it deeper and see how blessed you are they’re able to move out but that means they’re gonna have more bills, stress because they’re on their own now, you don’t have to worry about that rn, all though my path and future is set my sister just graduated college and wishes she could have a job and is still searching. So you may not be able to move out but be thankful you have a job and something to hone in on

Also in the environmental field. I can sooo relate. Always follow your heart and follow your passion. Money can’t buy happiness

I do not make a lot of money and live in one of the most expensive cities in America. My family isn’t here so I’m jealous of people who have the option to just not pay rent. However I’ve made it work by finding very cheap rooms for rent (in great neighborhoods) and so far I’ve been happy. If you really wanted to move out that’s an option

I’m a therapist for troubled children and I would consider it to be an important job but unfortunately I barely make enough to survive 🥲

As someone with a full time job making 50,000 after taxes, I still have a second job to stay afloat

I’m also in environmental sciences and instead of renting, I’m buying a double-wide for only 300$ more than rent. I’ve worked all throughout my undergrad and now as I’m getting my masters i really need my own space 😭thank god we know someone who is letting us stay on their property for only utilities and of course the payment of the double-wide. Not a bad idea to look into mobile homes though!

don’t feel too bad most entry level positions in special industries like this take time and experience before you can work the high paying positions, as long as you have enough money and support to live then keep pursuing it,

you're not alone. i'm living at home (been here since december) and just got a job 3 months ago as an administrative assistant. i'm not making really anything, especially not enough to live on my own. i'm hoping to get there soon bc i am ready to gtfo.
