colorism within the black community is definitely a thing, first time i’ve heard someone say they wanna be darker rather than lighter

Same I think it’s more so because my whole family is brown so idk how I came out white. I just feel left out but everyone thinks I’m pretty because I’m light and I’m like that’s not what I want 😗

from the lightest light to the darkest dark of skin tones is a difference of spf 12, which is not nearly enough to protect you from much of anything

and your not wrong. i didn’t notice my skin until boys in middle school would bring up me being paler than my darker skin peers. and the more i grow older the more i appreciate darker skin and wanting my kids to come about being dark—myself even. not to fetish at all! i just appreciate darker skin on people.

i feel this omg! the only reason some of the black men in our community like us is because of our skin. “when i get u pregnant our baby gone be light” who said that??? and when will you be entering my womb????
