They truly lost the entire plot. Like I personally believe in Jesus and believe in the Bible but to the extent it is full of room for interpretation, gods word is not literal it does not directly say what to do or not do beyond maybe the ten commandments which are about LOVE AND RESPECT??? like they are so full of judgement they make people like me that still have faith ashamed to be a “Christian” because they’re a sick twisted cult of hateful self righteous Pharisees.
So true, they’re just proving to everyone how annoying they are and showing how hollow and performative their gospel spewing is. If they wanted, they could take that energy and put it towards something good like volunteering for the less fortunate, y’know like their silly little book tells them to. But no they don’t want to put in effort or actually contribute to their community, so they post dumb shit in TikTok comments so they feel better about their pathetic lives.
Christianity has become too much of a religion, a set of rules to follow, and it’s become legalistic. It’s supposed to be a relationship with Christ, with the goal of becoming more like Him every day. We’ve taken the instruction of hating the sin while loving the sinner, and totally twisted it to just hate others. It’s awful.
I’m a Christian and I’m reading your comment on break during my volunteer hours at a local nonprofit. I get that some Christians can be awful, particularly the ones that treat politics like religion, but we aren’t all like that. It makes me sad that that’s the image of us that’s there. I’m actively working to change it.
my issue with your statement, is that while you may not all act this way or engage in the bigotry and political discourse or whatever, but at the end of the day, the people who are doing those things are who is representing y’all. Christians aren’t putting forward the things that give y’all any good will. It’s especially bad from those who try to enforce their beliefs on others, and not just in minor ways, I mean, like how public schools will have to show the 10 Commandments in all classrooms.
Like every day walking to class, there was a man with a megaphone “preaching” at everyone about how we’re all living in sin and need to repent. With the fact that Rob Wade was overturned purely because of Christian efforts. I’ve never had someone of any other religion trying and forced their beliefs on me and I’ve had countless Christians try to. No offense intended sorry if I came off harsh. Just trying to explain my views on why
No, you missed the point the point was that he brought those people into his fold and didn’t judge them for their past or their health, he loved them like you should love thy neighbor. But it’s misunderstandings like yours that make Christians think it’s okay to be bigoted and hateful.
I’d love to have a convo with you abt this as a Christian that wants show what the Bible actually teaches and how we get a bad wrap. I don’t want to force anything on you I just genuinely want to have a convo abt your viewpoint and why it is what it is. Dm me if you’d be interested
I believe the only changes to the Bible have been like translation errors not like massive rule changes to Christianity. Like idk if you’re considering the book of mormon a translation of the Bible but there’s a lot of stuff in there that we don’t believe because it’s been changed from the Bible. Not to take a shot at them tho just an example. I know when it was first being decided what books would be included there were some taken away but there hasn’t been like a major change added to It.
